You may or may not have noticed, that this very blog has been down for a while. Apparently, something went terribly wrong at Contabo, and it took my VPS down with it. After ~24 hours and counting of downtime, and frustratingly pointless exchange with Contabo's so-called support, I bit the bullet and ordered a new VPS instance with IONOS. It was fast and painless. And it took me just a few minutes to restore my blog and update DNS records.
I actually tried to order a VPS with Netcup, but after almost four hours of waiting for my order to come through, I received a message instructing me to go through a convoluted identity confirmation procedure. I had no intention of doing that.
So the blog is up and running again, but I still need to migrate my Aircraft Photography website. It's going to be a more time-consuming task, though.
