NUE: I've finally captured Piaggio P.180 Avanti EVO

The "feeling under the weather" thing just wouldn't go away, so my plan this Sunday was not to have any plan at all. I just wanted to stay on the couch and binge on Slow Houses. I was through the Episode 1 of Season 4, when I glanced on Flightradar24 and almost fell of the couch: out of the blue, a Piaggio P.180 Avanti EVO was scheduled to make an appearance in NUE.

This unique turboprop has been on my wish list pretty much since I took up airplane photography. But the machine is as unique as it is elusive: in all this time, our paths have never crossed. Until now, that is.

Realizing that I can actually make it to NUE just in time to catch the airplane, I felt instantly cured.

I arrived with 20 minutes to spare: just enough time to go up to the parking garage rooftop and get ready. Thankfully, the weather decided to cooperate, so I did manage to capture this fine specimen in all its beauty.

To celebrate the occasion, I treated myself to a cup of coffee and a slice apple pie.
