FRA: A footpath discovery and other adventures

I haven't visited FRA for several weekends, which felt like an eternity. And even though the weather forecast promised rain and a dip in temperatures along with changing wind directions, the pull of FRA was impossible to resist.

This trip had several highlights, the most important being the fact that I've finally — FINALLY! — found a footpath from Gateway Gardens to Zeppelinheim. It has always been there, but the idiot that I am, I 1) couldn't find it when I tried more than a year ago, 2) the thought of trying again hadn't crossed my mind ever since. I wish I found the footpath earlier, which would have saved me a lot of time and grief. Anyway, I've found it, and it takes ~20 min of brisk walk to reach the observation platform and the A5 overpass. Which is to say it can be faster to walk there than taking the bus.

The second highlight is related to the first discovery: the footpath offers several locations for capturing landing airplane at closer range. In fact, when you stand next to the ILS antenna, airplanes pass right over your head so close that you can feel the rush. I mean, who needs Skiathos and St. Maarten, right?

Discovering the footpath and new locations, combined with the fact that I had my collapsible stool with me, meant that I could spend more quality time capturing airplanes. And capture airplanes I did. It will take me a good while to sift through and process them, but that's a very nice problem to have.
