Sunday and Monday in NUE: Exploring a new location

Camera? Check. Lunch? Check. Coffee? Check. The weather was wonderful, so off I went to capture airplanes in NUE. Out of habit, I went to the rooftop of the car parking building. But there I ran into a chatty teenager, who kept talking incessantly, absolutely wanting me to see all his airplane photos. Not interacting with people is one of the attractions of aircraft photography for me, so I wasn't amused.

I packed my camera, excused myself, and decided to check out another location on the other end of the airport. I've been wanting to try this particular spot for a while, but I never had an incentive to do that. Until now, that is. After a 20-minute trek under the scorching sun, I reached the spot that by my calculations would be ideal for photographing aircraft departing from RWY28. For once, I was right. Even though I ended up getting pretty sunburned, I managed to bag a few decent photos.

The next day, I returned to the rooftop to capture Air Horizon Boeing 737-436. Of course, my chatty new friend was there, too. So as soon as I was done, I headed to the newly discovered spot. My catch was rather meager this time around, but at least I discovered a shady spot, so I didn't have to roast under direct sun. And with temperatures reaching 31°C, that was a really nice thing, indeed.
