Fujitsu Esprimo Q556/2-based ADS-B station
I thought I'd share my current ADS-B station setup. It runs on an Fujitsu Esprimo Q556/2 machine.
I could have gone with a Raspberry Pi, but I chose Fujitsu Esprimo Q556/2 for a number of reasons:
- It's dirt cheap (check prices on eBay.de).
- RAM, CPU and storage can be upgraded. The machine supports up to two internal storage devices: an M.2 SSD and a regular 2.5-inch hard disk or SSD. Accessing the components is a matter of removing a side panel, no tools required.
- Plenty of ports (both front and back).
- With its all-metal case, the machine is solidly built.
- It's relatively heavy, but also rather compact, with a super quiet fan (which kicks only rarely in).
